Learn to Sew

Vanessa is an amazing teacher. She's patient, kind, and oh-so-knowledgable. I first went to one of the short sessions she had for a group, and, in the first twenty minutes, demystified several issues I'd run into trying to figure out how to sew on my own (which made me pretty much throw up my hands). She knows how to sequence the information so it's available when you're ready for it, and how to provide it in a way that is never anything but helpful. If you have any interest in starting to sew, or in improving on where you are, you can't go wrong in having Vanessa as your guide.

I had such a great time in my sewing class with Vanessa. I can't believe how much I learned even though I've been sewing since I was a girl. What a great refresher and inspiration, plus I walked away with an adorable bag! Highly recommend for new and advanced student!

Vanessa is such a wonderful, patient, knowledgeable teacher. She's been teaching my daughter sewing for the past few months and now my daughter is motivated and capable of making her own projects. Doing online lessons helped my daughter become more confident on our home machine, so she's now able to sew on her own at home. Even though I know how to sew and tried to teach my daughter myself, Vanessa's lessons are much more inspiring than mine!

I took the intro to sewing class pack and to sum it up in one word... amazing! Vanessa took to time to tailor the private lessons to things I wanted to learn about while giving me a great base of knowledge. She is patient, encouraging, generous, and an expert at what she does. I had so much fun learning how to use my machine and enjoyed the small projects along the way (I still use my bag for the grocery store a year later). My daughter has been taking sewing lessons with Ronkita for over a year, and we are really happy with the results. She is really enjoying her lessons and making great progress. Thanks to her lessons with Ronkita, she was able to enter several outfits into a local fashion show. Since we have been under quarantine, Ronkita has successfully continued these sewing lessons virtually, which is impressive!

Vanessa was awesome. She was clear in her direction, thorough in her explanations, and super patient. I also love that she has the technical background in how sewing machines work given that she repairs them. In 1.5 hours, she taught me to make a cute clutch. She rocks!

Had a super fun time learning the basics of sewing from Vanessa! She explained a lot of the "why" behind what we did, plus some machine mechanics which made sewing seem much less difficult than I thought it was! Vanessa is smart, kind and obviously passionate about her work. I really enjoyed the two hours I spent with her! I also now feel confident that I can thread a sewing machine and do some basic sewing work on my own. Excellent experience all around!

Vanessa was the best sewing teacher I have ever had! She was so easy and nice to get along with and taught me step by step so efficiently! I really enjoyed how simple she made the whole process but how proud I was of my work afterward. Thanks again Vanessa!
